Fort Mills, also known as Fort Mill Township, is a suburban town in York County, South Carolina with a population of 10,811. Fort Mill township is home to notable businesses and serves as the headquarters of Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps, DCI World Champions in 2013. The town of Fort Mill was established in 1873, taking its name from a colonial-era fort built by the British and a grist mill on nearby Steele Creek. Fort Mill grew rapidly in the late 19th century as textile mills were established. After many textile mill shut-downs, the town continued to grow rapidly and became a major suburb of Charlotte.

Fort Mill Rescue & EMS – Fort Mill Rescue is an independent, non-profit organization. The team operates up to 3 advanced life support ambulances, 1 rescue/rehab 24′ trailer, 1 boat, and 1 quick response vehicle. Fort Mill Rescue is staffed with 3 full-time paramedics, a few part-time medics, and over 50 active volunteers which include EMT-Basics, EMT-Intermediates, and EMT-Paramedics.
